1. to form into voice; utter or sing: »

to vocalize old camp songs.

2. to make vocal: »

The dog vocalized his pain in a series of long howls.Figurative. The speaker vocalized the feeling of the entire group.

3. Phonetics. a) to change into a vowel; use as a vowel. Some people vocalize the r in four. b) to voice.
4. to insert vowels or vowel symbols in (as an Arabic or Hebrew text).
